Candidate Comments: Speaking for myself I have no taste for gambling. The reality is however, gambling is currently legal in Louisiana, and staying true to my support of individual liberties I can't imagine a scenario where I would seek to expand gambling. However, as market factors change I would be willing to listen to both sides of the issue, and make a decision on a case-by-case basis, acknowledging the dangers of gambling, which will weigh heavily on my decision. I have never been employed or lobbied on behalf of the gambling industry.

Candidate Comments: Locally I am known as the most fiscally conservative member of the Metro Council. My voting record clearly shows that I have never supported a tax increase; however, I look at each individual issue and weigh both sides, and vote accordingly. I cannot foresee a scenario in which I would vote for a new tax or tax increases, but I wish not to back myself into a corner if the only solution requires us to do so.

Candidate Comments: I believe in an "all of the above" policy in regards to solving our significant education crisis in this parish and state. I believe in very high standards and accountability. I believe the standards should be driven from the local and state level and that federal control of our education system should be fought. I am a proponent of home schooling, private schools, public schools and charter schools and vehemently opposed to public sector unions and their protection of a system that is clearly broken.
